Physics 420 – Science and Policy – 3 hr course
Spring 2018- MWF 12:00-12:50 Prereq: Eligibility for MATH 101

Satisfies KU Core Goal 5: Practice social responsibility and demonstrate ethical behavior
What: An introduction to the relationship between science and public policy. An experiential course where students will be asked to engage meaningfully on a practicum project for local, regional, national, or international partners who are working on policy decisions which have technology implications.
Examples of past projects:
- Converting to electric buses at KU
- Wind or solar energy for Kansas family farms
- Industrial Hemp for Kansas
- Composting for Schol Halls at KU
