The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), School of Medicine, is happy to announce that applications for our Pre-Med Summer Programs will be open as of Monday, February 10, 2020.
The mission of the ODI Summer Programs is to provide academic opportunities that will assist in the development of underrepresented students and their advancement in health-related careers.
The programs available are:
Health Science Enrichment Institute - A five-week summer program on the KUMC campus for college Freshmen and Sophomores that offers instruction in various upper level Science and Health related courses, such as Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Intro. to Medicine.
Pre-Admissions Program - A five-week summer program on the KUMC campus for college Juniors and Seniors that provides preparation for the MCAT. Students will also receive an overview for preparing the AMCAS application and information about the medical school admissions process.
The program will provide a stipend and we will cover classes, meals and some housing for those who live outside of a 30 mile radius of the KUMC campus.
