The University of Kansas McNair Scholars Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is designed to prepare undergraduate students for graduate study and eventual careers in university teaching and research. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2018-2019 academic year.  In order to qualify for participation in the McNair Scholars Program, students must be graduating December 2019 or later, and identify as eitherlow-income, first-generation college students or from groups currently underrepresented in graduate education (African American, Native American, and Hispanic).  In addition, applicants must have at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA and plan to attend graduate school.

The McNair Scholars Program provides year round academic support and offers a paid summer research internship ($2,800 and 3 hours of research credit).

Students who are interested and meet the requirements should contact the McNair Scholars Program as soon as possible at mcnair@ku.edu or call their offices at 785-864-3412.
