Undergraduate research & creative project opportunities

Friday, September 18, 2020

The Center for Undergraduate Research is excited to announce upcoming opportunities for undergraduate students this fall.

  • Online Student Panel-- Getting Started in Undergraduate Research: Wednesday, September 23, 4:00-5:00.  Hear students talk about their experiences getting started in undergraduate research! Register online to receive a Zoom link.
  • Undergraduate Research Awards (UGRAs): The Undergraduate Research Award (UGRA) competition for Spring 2021 is underway. Each award provides a $1,000 scholarship for students taking part in original, independent research or creative projects.  Undergraduates in any major are eligible to apply. Detailed guidelines and individual appointments are available to help students prepare a strong UGRA application.  The student application deadline is October 29, 2020.
  • Volunteer Research Postings: Our office’s website has a page where faculty who are looking for students to assist them with their research projects can post opportunities.  Students can browse through current postings for volunteer or course credit opportunities on our website, or you can visit our “Getting Started” page to learn about other ways to find research opportunities.
  • Fall Research Showcase: The Center will be hosting an online Fall Research Showcase for students to present their research and creative projects at the end of the semester.  All students are encouraged to participate, whether you will be presenting a project or want to view other students’ presentations. More details will be posted online in the coming weeks!
